I can only strongly endorse the proposal for the carport from , after all, there is plenty of storage cellar space, so a bicycle and trash bin annex should be sufficient. I would even give the thing a glass roof. Are there actually any cardinal directions mentioned anywhere?
I recommend a complete replanning. I would have still simply answered "yes" to the question of swapping the sanitary fixtures on the ground floor, but in the first attic floor, the advice already shifted towards replanning. By the way, my general advice to develop the ground floor from the upper floor rather than the other way around applies in particular to this house type. The "upper floor" here is actually a "first attic floor," with knee walls only about at railing height. If the marital bed stands as drawn, the person sleeping on the eave side must stoop to get to their bed.
(the kitchen island is not drawn in, but I think it’s clear where it goes)
No, it is - apart from the fact that it won’t be enjoyable that way -
not clear, because: it is very obviously not "not
drawn in," but "not
planned." That is such a significant quality difference that I urgently recommend a visit to the kitchen planning forum before further considerations. Furthermore, I suggest that you draw inspiration from ( ) and best start at the end, so you will probably get to the current floor plans faster (in his current questions about the bedroom closet and bathroom ceiling spots it might go even faster, I don’t have the post numbers in the quite long main thread at hand right now). Especially check the idea of putting the master bedroom in the attic. In general, his house is by far the most transferable in terms of floor plan to your problem here, as it is the most similar in format. At this point, my congratulations for not trying to build a semi-detached house "independently" sensibly. I wish you a comparably good general contractor and hope you don’t also have a mayor who only grants connections on the surface.
