Hello,

how should one proceed if a house is to be demolished and a new one built in the same place? The question relates to the utility lines such as electricity, water, sewage, and telecommunications.

These connections should be reused in the new building, but I am not sure how this can be achieved without damaging them during the demolition.

The house to be demolished has a basement ... the new building is to be constructed without a basement.

Looking forward to helpful answers.

Best regards

Micchael

Where do the lines come in: in the basement or from above, or from the side (Telekom ApL on the house wall for example)?

That means you want to do a deep demolition - would the basement be in the way?

all connections come from the street, power connection (meter) and APL are mounted on basement walls ... I roughly sketched it in the attached file ... the basement is to be completely excavated, refilled, and compacted for the foundation slab ... whether the fresh water connection will be laid under the slab and then led up through the slab, I do not know yet.

I will call the utility providers tomorrow and try to clarify that ...

We have the same situation. You need to get in touch with the suppliers. Water: The supplier told us that they no longer use the old pipes, too old, too small diameter, so it will be shut off and has to be newly installed. It was funny that the supplier didn't even know where the pipe runs, they had to look for it first. We installed the sewer ourselves many years ago, we separate it outside the house to be demolished and then just reconnect it with the new pipes. Electricity: done by the electrician of the construction company, apparently you are not allowed to do it alone. However, he only files an application for relocation, so we don't need expensive construction electricity, but can stay with our supplier. Telephone: we are lucky that our connection is located in the garage, which remains. So it can simply stay and will then just be laid back into the house. But actually you discuss all of this with the construction company.

Suppliers disconnect and remove the meters. If the demolition company has taken care of it, should and can the lines still be used? Everything is new from the street on our side. Wastewater is too high, electricity and water are still original equipment and therefore more a case for the archaeologist.
