So the sealing would have had to be carried up at the side behind your roller shutter guide rail on the frame and on the masonry (this would be technically completely correct). But this is only possible if the clinker is not yet there. I think that in 95% of cases this is also not executed. I also do not think that water will penetrate there.

A studded membrane is not a seal. It is supposed to protect the seal from damage. If you use a mineral sealing slurry and ideally apply it twice, the studs will not damage the seal (no matter how you position the membrane). Because protecting it is their task.

There are not many mineral sealing slurries that are plastic-modified. We have had good experiences with PCI Barraseal. As mentioned, preferably apply twice so that you get enough dry layer thickness.

Thank you for your contribution!

My thoughts: I planned to replace the studded membrane with the Remmers DS Protect.. somehow I don't feel good about the normal membrane, a technician from Remmers told me, no matter in which direction you install the studded membrane (the normal one), it is supposed to be wrong, as according to DIN it actually doesn't belong there or damage can occur quickly, is that true?

Then apply the thick coating twice, in the window areas I would use the VS 250 tape (from Remmers) on the Styrofoam.

Would that work?

What I don't understand is when to use a thick coating and when to use a sealing slurry, what are the advantages and disadvantages?

Regards

The insulation visible in the last picture looks interesting too. It insulates the bricks against the house ;-)

I believe he wants to imply that in the picture it looks as if the thermal insulation is on the brick facing and the ventilation is on the masonry, and not the other way around.

Isn't it, the part that was cut out is closed again.
