No, that is based on polymer bitumen and is less suitable. In your case, the bitumen-free variant based on minerals is better. For example, take a look at Remmers Multi-Baudicht 2K.

Thank you for the quick response. Of course, over 100 euros for a 25kg bucket is quite a steep price, considering that if I do the entire basement, I have an area of almost 100 sqm. Are there any other recommended alternative products?

I want to lay tiles afterward, but I don't think that changes the fact that such a quantity still needs to be used, does it?

Links to external sites are not allowed and will likely be removed immediately.

The 2-component bitumen waterproofing offered in your hardware store should not be used. It is only suitable for waterproofing from the wet side, not for negative waterproofing. In addition, bitumen waterproofing is not permanently UV-resistant.

The Erika waterproofing membrane is theoretically possible. BUT: It is definitely not suitable as a floor covering and cannot be tiled directly or similar. A screed must definitely be applied on top, and possibly even insulation for decoupling between them.

The suggested Remmers MB2K and other bitumen-free hybrid waterproofings can be used here. They cost a few euros but are definitely permanently watertight and firm.

Significantly cheaper would be, as suggested at the beginning, the flexible mineral sealing slurry. These are suitable for negative waterproofing on the interior side of the room, impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable, and can also be tiled directly. They also cost only about 1/4 of the hybrid waterproofing. Execution details and procedure I have already described in the first post. You can also get it in "your" hardware store as "MEM Dichtschlämme" for just over 1€/kg. Of course, similar products with comparable properties are also available from other manufacturers.

Thank you for the hint. I would like to do that but unfortunately I can no longer edit my post. If one of the moderators reads this... sorry, it won't happen again that I post external links.

Thanks again for your response. I will soon start chipping off the crumbling plaster on the walls and finish room by room one after the other.
I will definitely get in touch again with an interim report on how it’s going.
