As far as heating costs are concerned, you really only have to think about them secondarily. You usually pay at least 1000.- per month for the house. Whether you then pay 10.-€ more or 5.-€ less per month for heating doesn't make much difference (my opinion). The other facts, like wanting to have the chimney sweep come every year, or wanting to have a fireplace, etc., are much more decisive for me.

yes, I had suppressed the thought that the chimney sweep has to come for gas. I don't want to take that on myself timewise alone, so gas and the fireplace are out

I think, since the difference is now only €5000, I am now strongly leaning towards geothermal energy. Thank you very much for your opinions and tips

Assuming you save €20 per month (how much it actually is, I unfortunately can't say, maybe someone will tell you their annual consumption), it will take over 20 years (without interest!!!) until it pays off.
