I need to follow up again on the roof rafter bracket: The DR-line Hercules roof rafter bracket is designed for a roof rafter width of 55-90cm. How do I measure the distance between the roof rafters in my attic? The internal measurement, that is from inside edge to inside edge of the rafters? Or the external measurement. The internal measurement would be 80cm (suitable for Hercules) and the external measurement, including the widths of both rafters, is approximately 95cm...

Center-to-center. That should fit for you.

I have now called several companies and inquired about installation. When I mentioned that it is a new building, I was told that they would not install a rafter bracket for me due to warranty reasons. It could then cause trouble with the roofer because of the warranty.

How did you handle this? Did you have the rafter bracket installed directly by the roofer? I do not trust myself to do it.

Did it myself. It's not rocket science. Otherwise, bite the bullet and accept an offer from the roofer.
Or you order one from Amazon and give the guys 10/20€ and they should quickly put the thing up. Warranty is then a bit iffy, but screwing in 6 screws and holding a level, they should manage. You can handle the rest through a company.

So, over the weekend a buddy (from the field) was here and mounted the satellite dish on the roof for us. It worked great, from the Quattro LNB four cables go into the attic to the multiswitch. From the multiswitch then 6 cables go into our rooms to the satellite outlets.

When everything was fully installed, my buddy measured the reception at each individual outlet with his device. 4 worked great with perfect reception. But at two outlets nothing came through. He also unscrewed the outlet and measured directly at the cable. So it’s not the outlet itself, but the cable that goes through the walls to the attic. Also, the direct outputs at the multiswitch all have great reception. So it can’t be the LNB either.

I will call the construction manager tomorrow, but I wanted to ask here in advance. How do you find the fault now? There are special measuring devices with which you can find or narrow down the defect, right? However this can happen with new cables in a new house...

Yes, there are devices that can measure the distance. But they also cost a pretty penny. Well, when I think about how people walk all over them at construction sites, I'm not surprised. Especially with "data cables". Aren't the cables encased in conduit? Then a replacement would be relatively easy.
