Hello,

It’s great to be an IKEA expert if the drill holes still fit. Back when I assembled the kitchen, I created a binder and always filed one copy of the assembly instructions, templates, or any other paperwork that came with it. So technically, the front replacement shouldn’t be that difficult.

Thanks Zetterberg for your detailed answer. Applad doesn’t appeal to me visually, and I have also read online about peeling paint. High-gloss foil, if it is durable, is no longer such a big problem because of fingerprints; the kids are not that small anymore. I don’t need cover panels since there are no open carcass parts. Unfortunately, I haven’t found out yet when Metod will be launched in the Netherlands. Because there was a kitchen promotion recently, I feared it might be for the catalog change, but that wasn’t the case.

Hello,
if you still have the instructions, that’s perfect. However, I suspect they don’t say that to dismantle the railing rods at the back of the pull-out, you have to insert a wide flathead screwdriver into the rod and then loosen the clamp fastener with a twist.

Just ask the Dutch customer service when Metod will be introduced there. So far, I read February for the UK and France, April for Switzerland, not before spring for Italy, and September for Australia. If NL starts before Germany, you might still get parts no longer available in Germany during the clearance there.
After the introduction of METOD, Faktum parts are supposed to be available for another two years as replacement parts by order. The question is whether it makes sense to sell off the remaining stock in Europe after the switch instead of shipping them to IKEA components in Sweden for the 2-year supply. In this respect, waiting for a bargain in Germany might be risky if you don’t get more detailed insider information.

So if GB and FR actually start in February then D won’t come before May/June. Why, just logically, GB has 20 houses, FR 30, D has 45 houses that would be too much at once from logistics and possibly renovations in the houses.

So far April: Norway Danes ~ a dozen
May: Sweden, Finns, Iceland ~ 25 houses, does Iceland even have a house at all

So if CH and Italy come in April that’s also ~30, so in terms of quantity that could go together with the Dutch ~10.

Australia, do they even have metric measurements, or do they run like USA and Canada on inch/foot?

Australia is metric. For USA and Canada one reads 2015. Whether metric or still all imperial, American IKEA fans are still wondering.

Americans and metric, I don't believe that, they will definitely get their inch, they already have it now with Akarum or whatever it's called Faktum in inch measurement
