However, you could also do that in the kitchen. When it comes to sqm, I would accept THAT. Despite having a bathroom at the entrance, I wash my hands in the kitchen!

I would normally be okay with the bathroom in the basement version. However, you have to accept the lifting system for that, and every guest always has to run through the living room into the basement. That can be quite annoying and would bother me the most. When we have visitors, the bathroom is constantly used. It would be door slamming and running over each other on the stairs. I would rather send the guests upstairs. Then they just go to the family bathroom.

For me, a large kitchen would also be far more important than a third or fourth bathroom. So here is a version without a bathroom, where all windows and the front door remain in place. This results in a nice spacious entrance area and a significantly larger kitchen. Stove and refrigerator, etc., would of course need to be relocated. So if it were my house, I would put the guest bathroom in the basement right next to the stairway, then it really wouldn’t be far. And every stairway extends life You then have 3 toilets in the house, so if that’s not enough In a small, narrow terraced house, you have to make some kind of compromise. Exactly the idea also seems to us to be the better one. We have also drawn it that way and now hope that the builder will go along with it. A friend who is an architect said that your suggestion could be implemented like that. It only remains to be clarified whether there is a holistic obligation to make everything look the same on the outside. We will see...
