Questions about satellite TV or cable TV

no idea, since we don’t have cable in the house and don’t miss it either. Sat only costs once, then it’s fine, and I don’t need internet faster than the 16,000 DSL line. I also had a 50,000 at KBW in the rented apartment but never used it, and unfortunately often trouble on weekends because too many users were connected to the same node.

Do you happen to know how it works with an existing contract? We currently already have a contract for internet and phone in our rental apartment!

I don't know if it's the same with Kabel BW, I am with Kabel Deutschland and paid 199€ for the connection (groundwork done by the builder).

For me it's similar to you:

Satellite dish on the roof, from there to the multiswitch in the basement, and then to the individual rooms. There are multiswitches with which you can additionally feed in the cable signal.
I would leave the cable modem in the basement and connect the router or an access point to a network socket on the ground floor (or upper floor).

the thing with Kabel BW, yes, I have the same problem as you.
the decision for the satellite system is fixed. It only has advantages in technology, signal, number of channels, and costs.
for telephone and internet, you probably have to (I am not that far in electrical planning yet) distribute the signal best via home multimedia sockets, only for telephone device and internet cable. If you need WLAN, you can always create a WLAN station from the internet socket. Greetings from Stg.
