Hello everyone,

I have been quietly reading here for some time now, but I am hoping for some new ideas for our bathroom planning.

We want to build a detached single-family house next year and are now in the planning phase.
The master bathroom is giving us some headaches. We want a corner bathtub and a built-in walk-in shower without a door.

Fixed are the tall cabinet in the upper left corner (this must have the laundry chute to the utility room) and the position of the door, provided the bathroom is to be accessed from the hallway. An alternative would be access through the bedroom, which would be possible from above.

So far, only the two attached floor plans have come to my mind. I actually like the angled half-high wall in front of the shower in design 2 very much, but I am afraid it will be too tight.
Likewise, the entrance area door / washbasin / shower wall in design 1 is probably too tight.

Does anyone have a brilliant solution at hand?

Many greetings
Abby

Where is the WC? And are front walls necessary? Solid construction or prefabricated house? I can't do anything with the half-high wall. Is there an example of that? The drawn passage to the shower in variant 2 is definitely too narrow as it is. That means climbing over the wall.

It will be a solid house; according to the architect’s plan, facing walls are only necessary at the washbasins. But that may of course change if the layout of the bathroom changes again.

The toilet is separate, outside the bathroom.

Yes, the passage is too narrow, I noticed that too, you are right.

The half-height wall is intended like this: The two built walls of the shower will be about 1.5m high, and on top of that, about 40cm of glass panels will be installed as a translucent splash guard. Since the passage to the front (over the open corner) is now open to any splashing water, we want to additionally set up a 1.5m high wall at an angle, which will be equipped with towel holders and shelves on the back side. So its function is both splash protection and storage space.

You should mark the partition wall, then the space in front of the sink will be somewhat smaller. Then better option 1. Towel holders etc. can also be attached in front of the shower walls. The slanted wall would only make the bathroom feel more cramped, not only in terms of space but also visually.

I also prefer variant 1. We have now done it that way with the entrance and we don’t find it cramped. We even have an electric towel radiator on the shower wall. Personally, I would also prefer a straight tub, especially because the bathroom is quite narrow and it is also easier to clean. And it would also be worth considering whether you equip the space between the shower and the tub with a bench. I also find that very practical.

What kind of windows are those? Floor-to-ceiling or with a railing?
Can they still be moved?
