Push-To-Open / door opener too weak?

Hi,

and straight away my first question as a newcomer...

I took over the old kitchen from my neighbor (should be about 12 years old). I have since replaced the door fronts, so the whole thing looks quite nice and modern.

However, I don’t want to put handles on the new doors anymore. For the doors themselves, this works fine with the Utrusta push-to-open mechanism. But with the 3 drawers, it’s simply too weak. Even if I install 2, it hardly works – or I then have the problem that often only one opens, when closing the second one triggers, and I end up in a "vicious cycle."

Anyone have an idea how I can fix this? Unfortunately, I can’t say what kind of kitchen it is, but I guess it’s a combination of Faktum cabinets.

*thx*

Hello, the electric strike openers are not intended for use as push drawer openers. Three possibilities come to mind that I would try if I absolutely did not want any handles. 1. Mount two ESOs directly next to each other. 2. Remove the pull-in mechanism from one of the two rails. 3. Replace drawers with push2open drawers.

hey, thanks in advance for the responses

- I tried two.. whether left/right or stacked, the "vicious circle" is present in both.
- intake mechanism? you mean that the last few cm close on their own? it doesn't have that (it's already a good 12 years old)
- are they available at Ikea?

in the end, I found plan b - the top small one opens with one.
I would then simply replace the lower ones with a door and a shelf. I could live with that in an emergency...

Is it always the same drawer runner of the two that initially does not come out?

That existed 12 years ago as well, just without damping. Does the extension on the side have a rectangular cover cap or just a hole with a screw for front attachment?

No.

But that would be a big loss of comfort.

- always a different one - absolute random principle

- only one hole with a screw in it

- ok, so it's not all the drawers you mean, but only the runners for them, right?

Then nothing can be achieved in this regard.

You still have the old partial extensions. About 10 cm of the extension remain in the cabinet. Therefore, the kitchen is older than 12 years. They probably weren't sold anymore from around 2000.

No, no other rails are compatible with the extensions.

The cheapest option is probably a Pole. For a German or an Austrian, you easily pay double or more.

If you want to take a door, you could also move the rails 2 cm backwards and mount a small front on the extensions. That way you would have internal extensions in the cabinet. The 2-piece Härlig front costs only €11 (60 cm wide). Saw around it, add an edge band, and done. For the door, you would need the 153° hinge.

By the way, you can remove the railing rods from the back wall most easily by inserting a flat screwdriver into the dark gray plastic holder from behind and turning the screwdriver outward.
