Purchase of a leasehold property - price negotiable?

If I could be Vonovia, I would never agree to the deal. Or does the contract state that they have to buy out your house at the end?

Thank you for your assessments. We will then make an offer to Vonovia and see if they are willing to accept it. Without being rude, we will offer about 10 - 15% less than the offer made by Vonovia. Asking doesn't cost anything at first.

Of course, Vonovia does not want to sell, but we want to buy, and that is not exactly the best negotiating position. But so far, despite 2 inquiries, Vonovia has not felt the impulse to increase the ground lease.


The contract only states that we have a right of first refusal when the ground lease term expires.

Right of first refusal or else repatriation with compensation. V. would not like that. Buy. Don’t haggle much. Price is okay. They will sell the house with land in 2057. Bet? They inherited these hereditary leasehold things from the previous owner.

They will not go down one cent more, the mere fact that they are even selling is like hitting the jackpot. Sometimes I wonder.

Hello Isn't it the case with leasehold that the property passes into the possession of the landowner without compensation at the end of the leasehold contract? That would be in 36 years. Vonovia is pretty stupid if they sell the land. So: go for it. No matter what. Steven
