If you think the property is great and want to live there long-term, then I would buy it and also start planning right away. Of course, I don't have a crystal ball either, but does anyone really believe that in times of high inflation a new build, which costs 500k today, will cost 450k or 400k again in a few years? Even if the material situation eases again, labor costs will continue to rise. And interest rates will rather increase further for the time being. So I can’t imagine a scenario right now in which a new build will become cheaper again in the next two or three years.

As can be seen from many "likes," I agree with the opinion of my predecessors and share their arguments.

If you don't have much "lust" for architect/self-contracting, make it as easy as possible for yourself with a prefabricated house, maybe turnkey or even ready to move in (unfortunately not protected terms). Or build a house with a finished ground floor and an attic prepared for later expansion.

I dare to claim that in three years, the worst-case scenario of the 18,000 euros lost will hurt less than, in the opposite case, the feeling of having missed an opportunity.

Good luck. :)

Indeed. With many likes, I often wonder, huh, why now? Maybe she just reads a nice word. :)

I definitely distinguish often, but I appreciate that people participate here :) and many questions interest me, even if they don’t directly concern me, for that I want to thank with my "Like". For answers, a "Like" is appropriate anyway. And yes, I also often read "just a nice word" and enjoy it. :) Basically, I am relatively easy to get enthusiastic. And no, I don’t smoke. ;-)

It is only difficult for me when a post is really good, but I think I perceive an underlying aggression. Then I usually don’t know what to do.

I just had to like your post because, in my opinion, you are one of the most calm and empathetic people here in the forum. No matter how the mood is in a thread, you always try to see the good in people and not take anything personally. Not everyone can do that (myself included) :)
