@ HilfeHilfe You hit the nail on the head in my opinion! The 0.0% can be done, but of course that is calculated beforehand. I can still clearly remember our waterbed purchase. Seller: 0.0% no problem, it's currently a promotion. Oh, you pay in cash: you get 5.5% discount. Sure, that is also included, but I wouldn’t have gotten that with financing.

But have you also looked at the interest payments with the "convenient" option? And as I said: Do you keep the furniture for that long?

For me, that is very short-sighted and I also find it very worrying from the bank's perspective.

By the way, I always received my discounts anyway - the question about payment came at the very end.

Stefan, we feel similarly in that we just want to keep an overview and prefer to pay off one large debt at a bank rather than many small ones. Personally, I see the 0% financing the same way as HilfeHilfe. In the end, we simply can't avoid sprucing up our current student apartment with a few pieces of furniture. The rest will come over the years.

Sorry, but anyone who really thinks they lose track because of 1-3 other installment loans should reconsider building a house – these are far-fetched arguments that are commercially complete nonsense.

But I rather have the feeling that the OP here just wants to hear confirmation of his approach... too bad, it was meant kindly.

No lexmaul, I like to listen to that and we will include your aspect in our consideration. We have by no means decided on a course of action yet....

, of course. I expect that we won’t get anything back for free at all, so worst case. But even then, I’ll be done in 20 years with a 4.4% repayment rate. If we don’t need everything, it will be accordingly faster. So the furniture we have and will take with us is all solid wood. Our living room cabinet was bought 4 years ago, it looks like new. Waterbed, bedroom cabinet, bedside tables, 2 dressers, all solid. This stuff lasts. I think it’s a matter of taste as well as durability. If you got the discounts, even better. As I said, it’s a decision based on personal feeling regarding installment payments.
don’t worry too much about it. In my opinion, now is the optimal time to build. Go to different banks or e.g. Interhyp and present your concerns. I’m sure you will get exactly what you envision.
