Thank you construction expert, We are still at the beginning. So far, I have no further information on the prices. It is to be a single-family house with 130 sqm. We would then have everything done from a single source. We are not quite sure whether to go for a solid house or a prefabricated house. The price for a KFW 55 solid house is a bit off-putting to me, or rather, the prices of the prefabricated house builders are tempting. I actually just want to find out whether the extra cost or the low-interest loan from KFW is worthwhile.

Hi,

if you really mean the "old version of the Energy Saving Ordinance 2014," meaning the building application was still submitted in the old year, the answer is:

Yes, it is possible. We are doing it right now. Gas condensing boiler, no solar but a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery.

Best regards,

Andreas

No, I mean the currently valid [Energieeinsparverordnung 2014] since we have not submitted a building application.

Hi,

Then it will be tight. Houses are never really comparable but here as a rough number:

We will end up with a gas condensing boiler, no solar but a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery at the following values:

Transmission loss 67.2%

Primary energy demand 75%

So we are slightly worse than the KfW 70 standard, which you now have to meet at least to get a building permit.

We are already building with a quite good insulation standard, (U wall 0.16, windows with Ug 0.5), so it will be difficult to reduce the primary energy demand with more insulation.

You probably won’t get around solar thermal.

5,000 € thrown away for nothing, thank the eco lobby…!

Best regards,

Andreas

We applied for Kfw70 last year without solar and got it without any problems, even Kfw55 would have been possible with an air heat pump. We have a gas heating system with a ventilation system with heat recovery. Nothing more. However, the insulation is quite good.

Great post overall (as always).

Of course, the thing about wood is 100% true.
I could now pull out the "Keule" formula and do a calculation (I recently did this with my boss on the exact same issue with a fireplace, he was surprised, nevertheless bought one and now he knows.... saving € is not possible).
Conclusion: Heating with wood is definitely more expensive if you buy wood.

As I have written here in the forum several times: A lifestyle article.
Bauexperte says well-being. Correct. I have such a stove myself too. Saving? Never, as always in life: Enjoyment costs.

Best regards
Thorsten
