In NRW, yes, as long as it's not called a "party."

Funny, I had the same discussion with my wife yesterday. If our house were already built, I wouldn't worry too much because thanks to KFW55, the heat should stay inside for a while. It looks different here in our rented attic apartment. There's a draft coming through all the windows and sockets.

My wife was quite relaxed and said we have a gas grill and the Bulli. We can cook in both. In the Bulli, we can even warm up food since the tank is full. Our biggest problem right now would be the water.

I have actually thought about it too. We only have one heating source in the house, and that is a gas heating system. In case of a power outage, we would have no heating anymore. However, we have firewood, various grills and a fire bowl, candles, and good insulation, so we could probably manage for several days. But I would definitely be worried about the water pipes; they would need to be emptied quickly somehow before the frost causes them to burst. If there are any renovations planned for the exterior shell, we want to upgrade/convert it then.

But that will be a one-time fun thing indoors...
I assume you meant that you would warm yourselves outside there.
Unfortunately, too many people still try such fires indoors, so I wanted to comment.
Not that someone reads this, misunderstands it, tries it, and then dies of CO poisoning...

Good heavens, of course not inside!!! For inside, we would have a gas stove for cooking and thick blankets for sleeping. The rest outside!
