OK, true, that’s clearly in the four-figure range. Theoretically, we could have completely done without it and placed the garage directly on the basement. But since I didn’t want to take the risk with this load, we did take the crane .

By the way, for setting up our house it was the same crane, according to my site manager the prices for this 60-tonner are around €90-120 net per hour, plus possibly travel costs, one hour for dismantling, one hour for assembly.

Hmm, they ripped you off, our house was set by a crane that could drive by itself without an escort vehicle.

No, definitely not. A 60-ton crane was sufficient for our house. It also had its counterweights on board.

The 130-tonner (I checked the invoice again) that we needed for the oversized garage is not allowed to drive with its counterweights, as otherwise it would significantly exceed the weight limits set by the Road Traffic Regulations.

Why was such a large crane needed? A concrete basement ceiling surely weighs at least twice as much. And it has to be lifted over a 10-15 meter radius.

Do you have all prefab houses? Why didn’t you have the garage built with bricks?
