I see the advantage here that everything is on one level and also easier for us as we age.
I see the advantage like you do of having everything on one level with small children, but when the children get older, I find it an advantage when the children are no longer on the same level. I speak from my own experience; during my youth there was a whole floor between me and my parents, and you also had some peace and privacy.
For old age, however, the bungalow is of course an advantage again.
But no matter how you do it, everything has pros and cons... everything in its "time," basically....
I do not see amateur planning hindered here by the shape of the plot, but rather facilitated by its pleasantly "flat" surface. I definitely do not see a bungalow as necessary, it is just unnecessarily expensive, but at least the size of the plot would accommodate it well. Age-appropriate building at the beginning of one's 30s is nonsense, this generation will "regularly" build again near retirement age.
Good morning everyone,
We received the first proposals from our architect yesterday.
He created the different floor plans based on our initial conversation.
In general, we find the partition walls in the living/dining area very interesting, but we tend to prefer option 4.
Would you be so kind as to write down your thoughts/suggestions and opinions on this?

I always feel a bit uneasy about solutions where a room is used as a passageway. The children will also grow older and be out in the evenings, you have guests, and I would find it disturbing if the dining room is the only way to get from the front door to the other rooms. Both as a "passerby" and as a "waylayer" at the dining table. Open living spaces are nice and spacious – but at least in the proposed configuration, I would also look at the disadvantages. Personally, I would provide a continuous hallway. It would also be questionable for me to have the guest WC with shower at the front door. If it is to be used as a guest bathroom/children’s bathroom, I would always have to walk through the living room here too. Unfavorable from my point of view. If it's not used this way, then one can ask whether a shower is needed there. I also find the opening direction of the vestibule door unfavorable. When it's open, it stands fully in front of the hallway door.
Most likely variant 1, although I might swap the kitchen and living room here and reconsider the arrangement of the children's rooms! Although it only says guest and office now? Are there no more children? Is the plot fixed now or are you still considering? If fixed, then start the floor plan discussion with a questionnaire!
