That is not always about negotiating. There are certain cost drivers. Also, from a certain size onward, a few meters of kitchen add up. Everything then has its price. You can either put your foot down or just accept it.

This reminds me of the saying (which I don’t endorse) "... from Siemens or do you want something good..." But seriously, we have a relatively small kitchen unit plus island from a solid brand. We asked multiple stores about this. Even in the bigger furniture store, it cost about 15,000 euros with Siemens appliances. In a kitchen store, we ultimately paid about the same, but with Miele appliances (large induction cooktop with 6 zones and pot recognition etc. (the largest at the time), XXL and super silent dishwasher, larger oven (though I don’t see the difference), super silent fridge, etc.). The sink is not stainless steel, I just don’t know what the material is called, but it barely scratches, only the drawers, lower plinth (stainless steel) and at the same time higher work surface, so overall more storage space, glass countertop and things like sockets in the worktop etc. If we had only looked at the price, it would certainly have been cheaper, but whether it would really have been cheaper is questionable at least. Even on Idealo, I think just the appliances alone would have cost between 6,000 and 7,000 euros. All that said, in a relatively small kitchen. BTW, the kitchen builder even showed us the price of the "individual parts" in the program without block billing or whatever they call it, and there was nearly a 4 at the front (TOTALLY CRAZY!!!) Since the original poster presumably wants to build bigger, I guess the kitchen will also be bigger. That means more furniture so at the same or higher equipment level (we don’t have a steam oven, for example) even more expensive.

Are people really that stupid? If you want, I can even put an 8 or a 12 in front of it for you. No one, absolutely NO ONE! will pay more than the price you mentioned for this kitchen. No one!

That is not his program but the (of course) utopian MSRP's of the manufacturers. Obviously, no one pays these and only on these are the offers made about 50% off on custom-designed kitchens plus this and that freebie.

"...No one, that is NOBODY! will pay more than the price you mentioned for this kitchen. Nobody!"

Um, do you know my kitchen and, limited to Germany, all 80 million people, that you can say that with such conviction? As I said, sure, you can probably also buy a maybe not bad no-name kitchen of that size with decent appliances cheaper, but the price screw turns with every detail like a higher working height, etc., which I had already partly mentioned. And since kitchens are generally not replaced after 5 years, quality and that we like it were important to us here. Extractor hoods alone can cost several thousand euros. Therefore, you certainly cannot make a statement like too expensive, cheap, or whatever... Surely many will say I don't need it, totally exaggerated, Ikea is enough for me, but not for us.

Insanity what some people spend on a kitchen when I consider that some can easily put together really beautiful kitchens for under 10k.

Yes, I also find it crazy how much money can be spent there. Apparently, 30,000 and more is no problem. On the other hand, some people who call that crazy buy a new car every 2 years for 40,000 and more and just accept depreciation of many thousands of euros per year. When you then consider that they drive alone to work 80% of the time, I find that rather crazy. Others, like me, enjoy riding a moped and spend more just on 2 tires than others do on 2 sets for their car, and that every approximately 5,000 km. So you can only say, everyone has different priorities. Whoever just puts a frozen pizza in the oven or warms up a can of ravioli values the kitchen less than someone who sometimes cooks with 4-6 pots...
