That's good news.

Regarding the topic of children, it must be said that we have not planned anything yet. It can gladly take another 5 years.

Fortunately, schools are easily reachable without a car (school bus under 15 minutes) from the more "rural" property.

As a man, you can't always understand the horse thing, but she deserves it. After all, she works. 600€ is set high by us; the pure stable rent is actually 350€. And the vet hasn't even said "hello" yet.

Yes, the 350€ covers stall, farrier, insurance (liability, surgery), as well as a flat rate for "small" purchases (like a new halter or a saddle pad) and the standard vet care (vaccination, deworming, generously estimated). One should probably build up a reserve fund and be able to replenish it if it has been used. I have surgery insurance to cover a large part of the costs in case of an operation under anesthesia. Lessons may be added if necessary, but that is a point where you can cut back if money is tight at the moment. But the hobby itself should not be put into question... please not for financial reasons.

Well, I also know a couple where the man started to put pressure after the house was built and the child was born. Until his wife actually sold the horse. But she was very unhappy about that. I don't find something like that good (as a horsewoman). I hope this attitude holds, thumbs up for that!

I'm totally with you. But you're getting the box cheaply. Here in NRW you actually have to reckon with 300€ (full board).

265€, but I am also in Thüringen. Open stable, basically full board (some own effort on weekends), with [Halle].

Indeed. Additionally, the prices for hay have risen quite a bit.
