There is definitely something to that. How do you see the general costs if we hypothetically calculate with 80k or 150k?

The jobs are quite secure, you are still quite young, income is okay, looking at the numbers it doesn’t look bad. Regarding the currently running loan, a tax advisor can help you, something like that can also prove advantageous in the tax return.

So I have already read worse here in the forum and people went through with it anyway.

Parental leave/later part-time is financially unfavorable, but the person has more time at home and even if it only serves to coordinate craftsmen, accept material deliveries, etc., that is also an advantage in construction, not just a disadvantage!

The care has to be found first, flexible at any time. Especially with very small children, I would prefer to arrange that within the family. I think it's great to have family within everyday convenience, but that's still the case even with a 30-minute drive – as long as everyone can drive, at least. Would the nearby property also be accessible without a car?

... if you came to me like that and understood my hobby = horse as a "cost factor" that you can get rid of when things get tight... I would show you where the bricklayer left the hole!! I also know women who gave up their horse because of pregnancy or parenthood, and they're all really unhappy about it. And sooner or later there will be another one... 600€ is quite a price, though, I’m at about 350€ per month.

PS: I would also consider over a longer perspective whether the rural property might have other disadvantages, e.g. long school journeys for the future children. The adults drive, which is all very convenient, but the kids also have to somehow manage, and a morning hour on the school bus... doesn’t have to be. I think you are young and blessed with secure jobs, you might be able to handle the more expensive property over the long term.

The question is. There's always something included. Really only the ongoing costs; or also reserves for extraordinary expenses

For 350€ does that only cover the stable, farrier, and deworming?
