Personal worktop cut incorrectly

Ikea took a whole 5 weeks to reject our complaint. We then had to involve a lawyer. After receiving the lawyer's letter, they said, "You will get a new panel, assembled for 0€, and we will refund the purchase price of the panel." The solution is nice. It's just a shame that you have to threaten IKEA with a lawsuit before they fix their mistake.

Thank you for the feedback. It is really unfortunate that in such a case, the own mistake is not acknowledged immediately. How did the lawyer argue?

Actually quite simple: It cannot be expected from a layperson to assume liability for a wrongly planned countertop if the countertop is designed by a trained employee (based on the kitchen plan and the room dimensions, which were also measured by IKEA).

The customer service in the furniture store always said that IKEA was to blame here. Only this HR department has been obstructive.
