How do you come to the conclusion of partial untruth? What is untrue about the things with Okal Haus and the construction performance description? And what is untrue about Okal Haus using Styrofoam? I do not claim any further untruth, it may be that the government has decided that it is no longer hazardous waste because otherwise they would face a huge disposal problem... I also accept that no HBCD is used anymore, but at the same time I can personally decide that it is still hazardous waste to me... Nobody has to agree with my opinion.

It’s probably more about the fact that you have partly made the general statement that Styrofoam is hazardous waste. As long as you add in your opinion, everything is fine, but in general that is simply not correct.

But personally, we also prefer rock wool ..

We probably all have to admit: Our new buildings will overall be, due to the Energy Saving Ordinance and KfW standards, more or less airtight plastic bags. It probably does not matter whether you build with Ytong, Poroton, or wooden frame construction. Regarding insulation, I agree with KingSong, I would also prefer to choose something that is not called EPS/Styrofoam. As I have now seen, solid houses are insulated with Knauf Insulation mineral wool or glass wool, or comparable materials. And there is no wall insulation with appropriately thick stone formats. However, all air gaps in door frames, window sills, and on the ring beam are meticulously sealed with films. So, in the end, it will also be a plastic bag. Karsten

That is why we build with wood fiber insulation, completely without vapor barriers or vapor retarders and with mineral insulation in the cavity.
