Do you have a reliable source to support this statement? I'm really interested because I simply put the Styrofoam waste that occurs quite often in our household into the yellow bag. Without any problems. That somewhat contradicts your statement...

That doesn’t contradict at all because you probably have no idea about waste separation. Styrofoam is not the same as Styrofoam, food packaging with Styrofoam can go into the yellow bag, packaging material like Styrofoam chips and the like must be disposed of separately. It’s completely different with insulation material made of Styrofoam, for example, these must be disposed of as hazardous waste during the demolition of a house. This can be read by anyone anywhere on the internet.

Since December 2016, Styrofoam contaminated with HBCD is no longer classified as hazardous waste ... And much more importantly: Since 2014/2015, HBCD has no longer been used as a flame retardant in insulation boards. Therefore, this issue does not affect new construction!

For me, Styrofoam is and remains hazardous waste... I don't want that in the house. Best to wrap the whole house with vapor barrier foil... I don't want to live in a plastic bag wrapped in Styrofoam, but everyone should do what they think is right, as I said, I'm out, it was about a different topic anyway.
