He is not allowed to, the authority says "no" to a second access.

So regarding access to the house, we are still flexible. Of course, the front door is fixed, but how we get there doesn’t matter to us.

Practicality takes precedence over aesthetics for us.

As stated at the beginning, unfortunately, a second driveway is not possible.

Perhaps there is a neighbor to the right of the property whose driveway could be used in order to have a parking space instead of the lawn on the right side of the property. Of course, this would have the disadvantage that the neighbor should not park in their driveway so that you can access your parking space.

Is parking allowed on the street? That is, directly on the sidewalk in front of the house? Then the "parking space" wouldn't be much worse than using your own area.

Is the position of this first driveway fixed or could it be moved further to the right?

Unfortunately, there is no possibility on the right side. To my knowledge, the position of the driveway can still be shifted somewhat. But I would clarify this with the building authority first.

The street is unfortunately very narrow and there is no possibility to park directly on the street, so a parking space on the property is quite important. If all else fails, we will have to bite the bullet and be satisfied with the parking space in front of the garage. However, that would unfortunately not be comfortable. It also annoys me that we didn't think of this earlier, but now it cannot be changed.

Don't you think that the current driveway could be used and a parking space parallel to the street could be realized? Or would the distance between the house and parking space then no longer be sufficient for an access path?

How much space is there from the street to the house? I see 4.5m entered there but the reference isn't quite right, maybe 4.3m? Subtract 1m for the access path, then the enclosure at the property boundary, if desired. Could already fit. If a thick hedge is to go there, it’s getting tight.
