Take textured wallpaper. It is more forgiving of mistakes and easier to paste. Besides, textured wallpaper is breathable. Not every painter's fleece can boast that. Textured wallpaper is also cheaper. And who knows.... maybe in 5 years you’ll want something different on the wall? Also great for new builds: paper wallpaper. Good, affordable, paintable, and breathable. Available with or without patterns, in color or just plain white. Advantage: Does not need to be painted.
Painter’s fleece is not easy to work with. We did a ceiling on the ground floor with it and then took it all down again. Now a simple fleece wallpaper is glued to the ceiling.
Paper wallpaper: By the way, this tip is not from me. I’m just passing it on. It comes from my daughter’s prospective father-in-law, a master painter with a thriving business.
Our wallpapers are white with texture or cream-colored. Visual highlights are photo wallpapers from Komar, made of paper. Total costs all in: €350. Perfect for drying out the walls (residual moisture). You also don’t see settling cracks.
