At Viebrockhaus, a cement screed with Viebronol as an additive is used. This is supposed to reduce water usage by 40%. It was noticeable as well; 8 years ago I built with them and the house was like a sauna after heating up, now the humidity is at 70% 10 days after laying the screed.

Even with their miracle product (by the way, awesome name) the screed won't have less than 2% residual moisture - yes, I'm an amateur, but how is that supposed to work after just 5 days?

EDIT: I just looked it up with them... but for me it's more like advertising talk. But I'm more on the conservative side...

Another EDIT: Ok, I admit defeat . The original is called Retanol and it binds the water very quickly. Crazy stuff

Sure. I’ll post both here. Just check online at the big A. The wallpapers are sometimes up to 50% cheaper there than in hardware stores.

We decided on wallpapers because we can simply take them down and put up others if we don’t like them anymore. Also, you can shape the rooms with different textures, maybe use patterns or even multicolored wallpapers. It’s a matter of personal taste.

We had the hallway on the ground floor and the stair wall plastered with colored spray plaster (not painted). We really like this texture too. I never thought it would look so great. That’s why the shower bathroom also got colored spray plaster.

At first, the plasterer was skeptical, but afterwards he was enthusiastic. The texture turned out very fine.

Therefore, I can also recommend spray plaster instead of wallpaper.

Great and many thanks in advance. I am grateful for opinions and suggestions... I am looking forward to the pictures!!! I really like the "Stone Wall" by Komar! At the moment, I am also leaning towards wallpaper on the ground floor because it is more durable, easier to clean, easy to remove, and will definitely save us time! On the upper floor, we want to pretreat the walls with fiberglass fleece and then paint. However, we also have drywall walls on the upper floor. I can't imagine much under textured paint. I still know the variant liquid wallpaper, which I also find very nice! However, it is also very costly.

The scratch plaster was unfortunately not cheap, nor was the workmanship by the plasterer. Nevertheless, we would decide the same way again. Here are the promised pictures. I had to compress them first. We shortened the New York wallpaper a bit. The floral wallpaper was applied in full size.
