The living room is too narrow in the TV area, or rather, the resulting mini-niche bothers us.

Or you could still get a very small shower/toilet as an ensuite solution. I once had that after the renovation and I liked it. Really very small, shower/toilet, you would have that gallery area as space.

10m house width was reduced by 50cm in order to leave space for a 6m double carport on the narrow plot

The plot is not narrow. But such a townhouse is bulky, too bulky for this nice 19-meter width.
I would go for something a bit longer and narrower...

How can the plot be built on with a 2-storey building so that as little space as possible is wasted, despite open construction and generous rooms, while still achieving enough privacy and storage space - especially in the hallway.

... then it will also work without wasted space and better zoning.
