❤️-congratulations!

I personally would also take the large room for the parents and the smaller rooms as children's rooms.

We have two boys, at the beginning they were also with us in the bedroom/family bed.
For us, that was the best. But every family has to decide for themselves here.

Also from me, heartfelt congratulations :) I would also keep the current bedroom (so Child 1) as the bedroom and then make the other two children's rooms. If you sleep like THIS now, would Child 2 be NW? I find that almost optimal. Since you already live there, I wouldn’t let myself, as a parent, miss the chance to wallpaper, set up, and decorate the room from the beginning of next year. That clearly belongs to it, and you need space for the changing table, clothes, and gifts anyway. Have fun with it! :)

Floor plan discussions are not "my thing"; nevertheless, I would of course like to sincerely congratulate you on the joyful event :-)

Rhenish greetings

Thanks again for the congratulations and the answers.

Because Child 1 (now bedroom) is always so warm, we actually want to move out of there. So we measured yesterday. Our bed definitely doesn’t fit in Child 2...

...then, as described in my first post, we will turn Child 1 into a combined laundry-guest-office, make Child 2 the children's room, and move ourselves into the bedroom. It is up to 5 °C cooler there...

Unusual. Normally, the southwest (i.e. the bedroom) should get warmer than the southeast, since the afternoon sun has more power than the morning sun. Maybe it also depends on usage behavior: if you use a room permanently, you also heat it up with your own body heat (I also always find our bedroom too warm in the morning). With sporadic use, correspondingly less. But a 5-degree temperature difference? Do you have a new or old building? Checked for thermal bridges?
