I don't know it any other way either. Tiling the garage is new to me, it's not really necessary in itself. Yes, after a few years you can see traces from the car, but it's also a garage :)
A tiled garage is simply much easier to keep clean than just concrete. And it's also more pleasant when you have a party in the garage because of bad weather. ;) My parents also had only the concrete slab for years and only then tiled it.

Using the garage as a party room is exactly the reason for tiling it. Unfortunately, I won’t manage it before winter, but I also don’t want my wife to have to scrape her car free if she has to park outside.

That’s no problem. Then you just tile next year. Tiles will be laid over any stains anyway. Just for that reason, I wouldn’t park outside now and definitely wouldn’t start using covers.
