Hello,

I already wrote that every block has its advantages and disadvantages. As sound insulation does not matter at 36.5 cm thickness and above, it is already terrible at 17.5 cm ... in the attic or upper floors. Therefore, many suppliers resort to installing lightweight walls in the attics, which by the way are better than their reputation; gypsum boards are also suitable. Aerated concrete does not tolerate the material mix with KS.

Says who?

Thermal insulation[B]:

The thermal insulating properties are poor. The thermal conductivity ranges depending on the bulk density between 0.5 and 1.3 W/mK.

This statement is correct, on the other hand.

Have you ever put a piece of KS in a water tub? It is true that the capillarity of KS is rather weak; however, it still absorbs water when, for example, bricks can no longer absorb water. So maybe hollow bricks are your first choice then?

Rhenish regards

see xxx.kalksandstein.de section "Nutzen des Kalksandsteins"

come to that or not, I think the topic is closed for me... Kalksandstein with insulation and facing brick is the way to go. Due to the insulation already planned anyway, heat etc. is not an issue and one should probably achieve KfW 70 with it, if everything else fits, of course.

Hello,

every owl praises its owl ;)

It’s all a question of the overall configuration and ultimately – as always – also a question of personal preferences as well as costs.

As written at the beginning, my offer stands; you can find my contact details in my signature.

Rhenish regards

As already mentioned above: If cladding is going to be done anyway, there is no doubt in my opinion. KS is certainly better than aerated concrete in terms of practical properties such as sound insulation and fastening. Especially in the K/D sector, there are countless companies that practically work exclusively with KS, so the original statement does surprise me.
