Very good :) there is no other way.

Here in the forum, the outlook has also become somewhat more positive. Three years ago we were still torn apart because we wanted to "manage" a financing with a 1500 euro rate on a household income of 5000 euros (at that time with a certain increase to 6000, now it’s 6600). Back then, some forum members only looked at the available cash assets and then certified whether you were able to pay or not ;)

In short: you will manage it. You have the necessary pragmatism

started with the new-build condo as a comparison. When switching from the existing condo to the existing house (in our case here in good condition), nothing changes in the basic argument. also confirmed the higher costs in some areas for the condo. Looking forward to the house. "Looking forward" to a bit more work. Looking forward to quality of life that money cannot compensate.

It couldn't be said better. And the feeling is even better when you move from the rental apartment, where you didn't even have a say in the utility costs, to a single-family house where you can decide everything yourself :)

I believe most people here can say that about themselves. However, there are few who are aware of it. :) I also try not to worry too much about the inflation situation. For the simple reason that the clientele in the house building forum, who are considering buying/building real estate, probably belong to the top 20% in terms of income and cost of living. At the point when inflation lasts so long and so consistently that we have to give up our properties because living costs have become overwhelming – at that point, the other 80% will have long since gone down with flying colors. And I think / believe / hope that it will not come to that. And I'm not talking about the projected 8% for the coming years. I think both the OP and most others here can handle that. Maybe with a grumble, but we are complaining at such a high level...

So regarding the costs of a condominium, it works like this with my apartment in Salzburg:

I pay €400 per month in operating costs (cleaning, garden maintenance, maintenance for e.g. elevators, etc.), with reserves for possible renovations already included.
This means that if the roof, the heating, the facade, etc. need to be renewed, I won’t be charged extra contributions.

The property management is obliged to invest this money into the building within a certain period. If they don’t do this, it is partially distributed back to the owners.

1500€ rate on a 5000€ household income is under 30%, so it fits. Due to your salary increases, the rate share has now even dropped towards 20%. Perfect, you have reserves to demand inflation.
@TE 1.5% salary increase with 10% inflation means that you are losing purchasing power massively, so a high rate quickly becomes too high....
