A second bathroom has nothing to do with children not being allowed to see their parents. Five people almost at the same time, some of different gender, going through one bathroom during puberty, that doesn't have to be.

For me, a rush-hour alternative bathroom is not the same as a children's bathroom. Brushing teeth all at the same time makes sense to me, showering all at the same time I consider avoidable from an organizational standpoint. By the way, the teenagers I know are almost all the type who only get out of bed at the very last minute, when the parents have long since cleared the bathroom.

so as a kid or teenager I would have really appreciated having to get up half an hour or even an hour earlier to shower. I think there's nothing wrong with a "second bathroom," you could even call it the women's bathroom and the men's bathroom :P provided the genders are evenly divided. but there you'd probably have to say which gender you'd prefer already at the "test tube desired child inquiry" XD

Exactly. As long as one does not hinder it by equipping one of the bathrooms without access from the hallway, it can be handled flexibly, in any life phase constellation or even differently every day.

Moreover, I am of the opinion that special treatment of teenagers can be overdone. Their parents and grandparents did not get a separate planet during this phase either and nevertheless grew up without severe trauma.

With 5 people, 2 bathrooms are not a luxury.

My father had a washbasin in the room and had to break the ice in winter. My uncle did not even have a tight roof and suffered from a lot of hunger. Those were different times.
