With Fingerprint there are also sensors for €3.95 or ones that actually work.

We have an "old" analog doorbell directly connected to the FRITZ!Box. Then the DECT phones ring.
There are enough of those lying around. In parallel, there is the FON app, so the smartphone also rings when you are in the house/WLAN.
If the phone is forwarded because you are away from home, you can still talk to the delivery service with the package...

Fingerprint was never up for discussion when building the house with us. I’ve seen it often, whether external or integrated. Better to use code or NFC. That works more reliably. Especially the programming alone. But that’s just as an aside.

No. It hangs on the wall and lets you see directly who is there.
You might then decide whether you want to open at all or maybe say something briefly before running over. For example, "thank you" to the postman who is just dropping off a package and already heading back ... or "please wait 30 seconds, I'll be there soon..." or or ....

Likewise, for example, the children can immediately see who is there and whether they may/should open or not... This example may not apply to you ;), but just as a thought starter :)

Whether the fingerprint works does not depend solely on the device. The fingerprint reader on the phone actually works reliably. But if I have been bouldering, I can pretty much forget about it for a good 12 hours. The skin on my fingers is just scrubbed off.

Can you tell me what kind it is? That sounds like the requirements I would have too.

Code is less secure than a good locking system. Fingerprint works very reliably. Just take a look at eKey. Also combined with the latest RFID technology. If a key system is still installed here, please do not choose the cheapest one. Although most break-ins do not occur through the front door.
