Yes, I have already done all that, but as you can see, the tree should have a nice crown that also provides shade. What good is a birch to me? Maple is very commonly used for avenues, which is why I assumed it would be a low-maintenance tree. I plan to buy the trees already in an appropriate size and not grow them from seedlings. The fan maple was recommended to me by the nursery for my needs.

We have 2 maple trees in the garden. The only thing that bothers me is that they spread very quickly and I have small maple trees growing all over the garden that I have to remove. Otherwise, there is no problem.

Well, you can also train birches differently, and there are several types of birches, beeches, and also maples with different heights, requirements, and crowns, and some can be trained exactly the way you want. There are also things to see in the fruit sector that you wouldn't think possible. Personally, I like maple; we have one in the garden (don’t ask me which type), I have never watered it, and it looks great. For a project like this, you’re unlikely to find trees that are already the way you need them. It takes a lot of patience. The older the tree, the more expensive and the harder it is for it to take root. And you can’t avoid training either; trees don’t grow by themselves like in the pictures or how you see them in parks—there’s care involved, often for several years since they were planted.

So if trees come from school they are not yet educated? Outrageous! [SCNR]

They don’t come ready like that to buy. They just cost a bit more, but I don’t care. PS: Birches make a mess without end.

My dream would be to put a mature weeping willow in the garden, but in terms of mess they’re comparable to birches.

They always have to be trimmed at the top if they want to keep that shape, I imagine that's difficult.
