Our Japanese maple is now the first victim among all the trees in our garden that have suffered from the drought.
If I were to design a garden again, it would be with more resilient plants. An irrigation system would be helpful, but I also don't think it's a good option... the villages and towns are already experiencing localized water shortages. And these systems take a lot of water from "us."
What would be alternative plants? I definitely do not want anything that bears fruit. A sun sail is also out of the question, as the sun moves from right to left.
A list of drought-resistant trees can be quickly found on Google. Various beeches, birches, maples, and other specific species are listed there. You can also find out which ones can be properly cultivated. Local tree nurseries are also helpful!
