I have only followed your various threads on the sidelines and always find it difficult to say something about individual topics when you don't know the context. I have the impression that although you are positively engaging with the individual topics and trades, you might eventually get lost in between because each topic carries seemingly endless possibilities, advantages and disadvantages, as well as perspectives. It would probably make sense for you to first present your project as a whole, including floor plan, site plan, etc. according to the questionnaire. From this, further questions will arise that can gradually lead you on a good path. In my opinion, what is most important is your need, your desired living feeling within your possibilities. Whether there is a drywall or Poroton is comparatively completely insignificant. I have already lived in various types of construction and the perceived difference does not come from the choice of stone or wooden panel wall, etc. Therefore, I would suggest going back to square one here in the forum, because many of your questions may gradually be resolved through other, fundamental decisions. The way you have approached it so far, I fear that with so much detailed information you will eventually feel dizzy and not really make any progress.

That means your darling from the group of general contractor candidates is building these walls flat rate out of gypsum boards? – that makes me think, because this is highly unusual for general contractors (but exactly the opposite for multi-storey residential construction), which suggests that this construction company does not predominantly build single-family homes. Exactly, the completed questionnaire and the plot of land are the best content for a starter post. Yvonne did not point to the textbook example of the robber without reason, how to drive a cart with failure guarantee into the mud. Above all, the general contractor failed there, but the client himself took the perfectly orchestrated start. Without such excellent preliminary work, the crash landing would have only made half as much noise. Most questions are resolved in general by the strategy change from scattered individual question threads to a "collection thread" regarding the project considered holistically.

P.S.: then I don’t understand the whole question:

Do you actually mean: "should we take the general contractor who mixes the red with one white or the one who mixes the red with the other white?"
If the talk is about one and the same candidate and he would build the walls
- outside with Poroton
- inside non-load-bearing with gypsum boards
- inside load-bearing by default with Poroton but also with KS on your change request
then I clearly see you as urgent cases for an independent building consultant. With a mixed telephone joker “for option X 38% are from the forum, but 43% from the handball team and even only 29% from the church choir, so we either take Y or toss a coin” you won’t get anywhere!

As far as I have heard, he has decided on the high/low builder.

I find this very contradictory:

But I also think that because of informing oneself with too many different professionals, all of whom have different backgrounds and focuses

there is a large flow of information that a layperson cannot oversee and now a colorful villa is being put together from it.

Metaphor:
You really can’t say anything against red and white on fries, but when the hotdog sauce, because it provides the sweet and sour, the mustard as well as the remoulade, which is known to go on the fish burger, get added on top, then you have probably been overwhelmed by the extra sauces on the snack bar menu.

What is so incomprehensible about the question? Mixing red and white stones? Or better not? What would you choose as a sensible combination?
