Every house building company has its standards and experience only with those. This enables them to calculate the offers sharply because they know their stuff... surprises are expensive and often don’t succeed due to a lack of experience.
If we do something that is not standard, it will also be expensive and often there are many problems, this is not limited to house construction, it also applies in series machine manufacturing and even in special plant construction.

You apparently have not read far enough yet, the problem was not in free planning itself. I had talked him out of its worst mistakes in time (e.g. offsetting the exterior walls of the upper floor behind those of the ground floor). What didn’t fit from the start were his and the main contractor’s ideas about which customizations beyond the standard of the BLB a client might want:

In your example, you also get Designo or AMG at Mercedes – but not Alpina, M-Technik, Abt, or Ruf. The robber had initially planned Brabus here and then switched from Lorinser to Carlsson. That would have gone wrong as well if he had gone to SGS.

The general contractor (GU) or rather most GUs have their construction kits and packages, they know them well and can plan somewhat freely within a certain scope, as long as it stays within the usual limits. Anything beyond that... they really don’t feel like doing it because the risk in unknown territory is simply high. They have to factor all that in from the beginning...

For me, it’s like Mercedes to Brabus, one level higher, for free. We’re not even talking about a villa with full automation, home theater, swimming pool, sauna, etc. with Räuber, right? ;)

You would be helped, gladly even, but one (not only with you) repeatedly gets the feeling that people would like to be helped in exactly the way they wish. You can have a different opinion, but there are some people here with 2, 3 or more construction projects behind them, partly with massive personal contribution. So far, you have not presented your project in a way that one can understand it as a whole; this includes floor plan, site plan, your individual needs, budget, etc. Only a few years ago, construction projects here were discussed continuously from start to finish and illustrated, and the builders were glad about it. Unfortunately, that has completely disappeared, and one always only reads short questions, often without context, and at some point the people silently disappear. Everyone here contributes their free time, and even though they do it voluntarily, they should be provided with the best possible information. Therefore, AGAIN my question: Will you now present your project here, as you have hinted? When people notice that the original poster is enthusiastic, it is fun for the people here as well, and they stick with it. Just in the last few days, I have seen several threads where the original poster simply disappeared without a word after many thoughts were given here. Therefore:

Counter-question: What is wrong with you? Finally present your project as already explained several times and stick with it, and then you will also get good results.
