Explain exactly how that works?
Where do you store the code? On the internet where you grant the permission? Does it then not matter who delivers the mail today as long as they have the code? Because I had already thought about it too but
I wondered how the courier remembers codes for the entire new housing development?

And how does the door close again? How is that controlled?
How far does it open at all? Can they reach bicycles etc. that are in the garage?

We have the Allux package box 600 in anthracite. However, it is protected under the roof and only gets wet in heavy rain. We chose this one because everything else was also much, much too expensive for us. Of course, there are many other bigger, prettier, and more stable models. So this one is naturally a compromise - shoe boxes fit inside, anything bigger does not. I am currently considering whether to remove the anti-theft device - then bigger things would fit inside, and nothing really ever gets stolen from us. Well. It took a while for the parcel deliverers to realize that they don’t have to ring the bell for book shipments. Some still haven’t gotten it yet... We are, or rather the man is, also currently thinking about the garage situation, which definitely makes sense for large deliveries. I wouldn’t have wanted a box from DHL either; it wouldn’t be useful for the other service providers.

Yes, the code is stored in the delivery permission. For some, this can be done online; for other parcel services, a signed document must be sent. I asked the parcel services in advance if it works. All answered yes. The delivery permission is stored in the parcel courier’s handheld scanner. Otherwise, they would not even know whether a delivery permission exists or not.

I installed a Wago PLC at my place, which controls all the electronics. You could also build something with a Siemens Logo or Raspberry Pi. After opening, a timer runs and closes the gate after the programmed time. However, I have an additional board on my Hörmann gate that allows me to specify up or down precisely. My gate opens about half a meter. So someone could definitely enter the garage. If the gate's light barrier is interrupted, the gate does not close. In a high-risk area, my solution is certainly not ideal. For me, it is the right solution. You could also install a camera additionally. Even then, I find this better and cheaper for me than a parcel box. But everyone has to decide for themselves.

We have relatively recently had the one from mypaketkasten, but explicitly without this throwing system, as it does take up space and it is relatively unlikely that more than 3 parcel services come in one day. Except for Amazon, which sometimes simply leaves the package in front of the door, it works. At the beginning, of course, you can also use the intercom system and assist. We find the solution nice.

With us, thanks to the drop-off permission, they even prefer to walk around the house instead of ringing the doorbell. For delivery drivers, anything is better than driving off like that again.
