I see it the same way - if you then put a tall solid gate between the terrace and the house, you have both privacy and wind protection - you can then extend the terrace all the way to the garage, cover it with a pergola ceiling, and you have a really nice sheltered seating area.

The ground floor is completely open (with the exception of WC, office & vestibule). Otherwise, no doors or closed rooms – even though a door is drawn between the hallway and dining area on the plan. We got it from the construction company draftsman like this and the changes (without the door) are not yet included. We would like to have an exposed roof truss with skylight by the stairs and possibly also above the dining table (because of light, etc.). Good tip regarding the door at the WC.

I refer to draft EG1 (this is our most current one).

I think the blue lines were auxiliary lines for square meter calculation (drawn by the draftsman).
There is a half-height wall between kitchen and dining room. The same between kitchen and living room.

It should look roughly like this (from the kitchen side)

We have actually liked the ground floor so far. But we are willing to learn. :)

Somehow it’s no fun with plans where all the essential information is missing. Knee wall height? 1- and 2-meter line in the attic ... with that, variant 2 of the attic will probably be completely unnecessary. The other variant can only be seriously considered further with this information.

No furnishings included ... does the guest WC on the ground floor in variant 1 also get a shower like in variant 2? Then it doesn’t fit.

Can’t you post a reasonably professionally created floor plan?

Ok, thanks, now I understand it better. :) I really like the open kitchen. I can hardly do anything with the gallery, which may look good, for practical reasons. Then I'd rather make the rooms bigger. With children, whether they are already there or planned, I would never integrate the stairs into the living area. Someone sitting in the living room basically hears everything that happens in the house. In the upper rooms, on the other hand, you get the conversations from the dining table or living room up close when the parents have visitors. But as already mentioned, everyone has their own preferences.

I always admire people for whom it really looks like in the movies in the end. In real life, I have rarely seen it like that so far.
