You are right. The house is finally square now. I am working completely in PP. Is there a recommendation for a free program for plot planning?

Regarding the long driveway: we definitely want the entrance in the north. So if we place the carport directly to the north in front of the house, the house has to move further south, which reduces the space for the terrace.

We are also currently considering the elongated house. We still cannot imagine how the city villa with a hip roof will look elongated...

Who even cares? Primarily, a house is meant for living, so it must first have enough space for the whole family, and the rooms must be suitable for the residents. A square floor plan rarely results by chance from a suitable arrangement of everything and the size of each room. If you make the square floor plan the top planning criterion, there will either be tight spots here and there or you need a lot of money to mirror every dimension across so that the result remains a square. If it should also be symmetrical and have a straight single-flight staircase, you shouldn’t even start with less than twelve meters edge length, while the standard Anstatt villa usually dares to try ten or even nine and a half (even with a T-bathroom, only praying helps). Incidentally, city villas were traditionally not square in floor plan; the square obsession only came with the Anstatt villas.

That's how it is! With a square just under 10, you have bottlenecks on one page in the draft, while elsewhere you have empty space.

Regarding the driveway or long access road in the north to the carport: you don't have to be a car enthusiast to love this driveway ;) . First the forced crawling along the western driveway and then also on the remaining strip between the house and the neighbor... the question arises: who is more annoyed, the neighbor or you or your wife with this artificial extension of the driveway. My opinion: the 19 meters will be super annoying, but it is still acceptable and bearable. But you don’t need to have more of it than that. You drive in forwards, you have to reverse out. And there stands your house with the entrance because the entrance absolutely MUST be in the north. The entrance, which ideally has a small platform with a little tree on it, a welcome sign, and eventually the children’s rubber boots and the tricycle. And here you are supposed to go back and forth every day. In my view, that is poorly planned.

since it is forbidden to reverse out of an exit onto the street, exception with a guide, you have to reverse in, have fun with the 90-degree turn
