Living room: How to arrange the sofa, TV, and cabinets?

Hmm .. I would find the end of the sofa too close to the fireplace:

And, I wouldn’t paint the south-facing window, then hardly any light would come into the room in winter.

Regarding the west window: I had thought to set the sill height rather at about 1.50, so that one can sit on the sofa under the window without having the window at one’s back.

With your suggestion, one would watch TV at an angle, which we don’t like that much.

Actually, I had already thought that you would sometimes use the patio roof and place patio furniture underneath. Doesn't it clash if there is a (floor-to-ceiling) window or a door there?

Hm, I don't really like the sofa with its back to the window or the whole big room, but my husband does...
