The wall was felted according to AN. I had expected this typical rough surface, which is however even and you cannot see every step of the felting process.

This is how it currently looks on two walls:

I will look for a close-up in a moment.

I cannot say anything about the requirements for processing marks regarding Q2, but to my knowledge a Q2 plaster is always intended (and defined) as a substrate for textured wallpaper, textured paints, brush plasters, etc. In this respect, there is little to blame the plasterer for based on the pictures. "Normal paint" does not forgive anything and reproduces the texture exactly as it is. Q2 is, I believe, the maximum level that can be achieved with lime plaster anyway. After that, it must be smoothed. In this respect, he has delivered what was ordered, in my opinion.

In the lime system, you can already achieve other nicer surfaces, the material has nothing to do with it. It is just Q2 required and ordered. A felted surface in a nicer version would probably have to be made in two layers. With a 1 mm grain, you can already get reasonable surfaces. But that is then Q3 and must be compensated accordingly.

We also pointed out that we wanted to paint directly and it looks similar for us.

Our expert found the result good and told us that the ordered Q2 was indeed created for us.

However, there are probably also clients with different requirements. He also had some who found the result good enough and basically started painting right away.

For us, puttying and sanding work will still be added.

Friends and also my husband have a knack for it and the father of a very good friend does this professionally and basically guides the whole crew as a foreman :) Hopefully this will then lead to the originally hoped-for result.

By the way, we had great success with heavy painter's fleece on the ground floor to achieve smooth surfaces. However, you would of course have wasted a lot of money on the lime plaster, where in hindsight a simple gypsum plaster would probably have sufficed.
