Our house is designed in a modern (?) classic style with anthracite windows and the front door. The facade of both the house and the garage is white. Until now, we thought the gate would be the same, but how about a different color? My wife wants to have something wooden in front of the house in the future, so we thought about going with the gate in the color "Golden Oak".

Don't do that to yourselves, in this context it looks like a banal wrong delivery. Take Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weeny Yellow Polka Dots – or for that matter just plain kermit green – at least that looks intentional.

Did I understand correctly that the gate in the color Golden Oak would then not be "real" wood, but rather wood-look due to the color? Then the weathering issue, which has already been mentioned here, would not be a topic either.

I can also well imagine a dark green, that would certainly go well with the planning for something made of wood from your wife.
