Hello,
we have also already considered swapping the living room and dining room. However, the following considerations have deterred us:
- We like the option of hanging the pendant lights from the gallery down over the dining table visually. (The air space is above the current dining table)
- The sofa in the gallery could feel uncomfortable.
- The distance from the kitchen should be roughly the same to both positions due to the bay window, so that is irrelevant from this perspective.
- Currently, the plan is to install a retractable screen opposite the sofa in front of the window. This won’t work if the rooms are swapped, as the screen opposite the sofa would then be too close to the fireplace. Thus, we see no option for a TV or projector/screen combo.
The toilet door is currently planned this way so that we still have the option to place a small sideboard right next to the door. At the current door position, that would not work well because it would be in front of the built-in wardrobe cabinets.
Do you have any tips for the revised lighting plan?
Many thanks.
Best regards,
Christian
