Hello,
wouldn't it have been appropriate if you had informed us of this? We live and learn here only from our mutual experiences.
The next user with the same problem is grateful when they read your information. And we are too, because we are dealing with your problem.

I would be interested to know what the agreement with the roller shutter installer looks like now?

Hello,
in my opinion, this expectation is also completely reasonable and appropriate.
However, I seriously wonder whether it was not done properly and professionally?

You and I, we are both laymen and cannot assess the proper and professional execution. Or was it explicitly agreed that the roller shutter should close light-tight?

If not, you should clarify everything else with your contractual partner – if in doubt, through experts and courts.

The statement unfortunately does not help you further.

Edit: As a temporary solution, I would also tend toward a solution like the one described by .

Good morning.
The topic of "roller shutters" in my new condominium simply never ends...

I was personally at the roller shutter manufacturer on Saturday and explained my problem once again, showing with photos that I have very strong light penetration in the bedroom starting from 5 a.m.
I also said that according to other roller shutter manufacturers, no compression tape was installed between the wall and the guide rail on mine! Besides that, the guide rail does not go almost to the windowsill, but stops about 2.5 cm before it! All this contributes to the fact that a lot of light (because it is the east side) comes into my room!

Answer from the roller shutter manufacturer (long-established local specialist company).
"Everything was installed according to the standard"
"There is no white compression tape. Only black. That doesn't look good"
"If compression tape is installed, the roller shutter curtain could possibly get pinched"
"Installing compression tape could push out the aluminum rail/dowels"
"The aluminum rails must be installed well above the aluminum windowsill"
"In the attic, masonry/plastering was done precisely. There is no gap between masonry and rails there. On the upper floor (where we are), it was not done precisely. That's why there are gaps"

Conclusion: The roller shutter manufacturer does not address the problem at all!
For 6 weeks now, I have been covering the window from the inside with cloths and sleeping with an eye mask.
I am gradually getting desperate.
PS: It only affects me in the apartment building because I am the only one who has my bedroom facing east.

In the photo, you can see the gaps between the wall and the guide rails.
The guide rails don’t go down to the windowsill as the photo suggests! Gap of about 2.5 cm!

Okay, I'm a layman, but silicone on it doesn't help? Have you ever reported this defect to the developer?

Didn't we report that this is normal? We also have a 3 cm gap to the windowsill, but I wrote that somewhere.

The suggestion with silicone also came up, didn't it?

I am not looking back at the posts now due to lack of time...

Being right and getting justice are two different things... I wouldn't get a lawyer or insist on rights or argue with energy that drains my life when one can manage with a few euros.

if the solution with sille is so simple, why don't the window makers just do it?

otherwise defect report, threat of hüh and hot etc... a roller shutter is supposed to darken a room. just take a picture in the morning without flash, to see how bright it really gets. a picture from me - how it should be right - is further ahead.
