I would be interested to know how the agreement with the roller shutter manufacturer looks now?
Good morning.
The topic of "roller shutters" in my new condominium simply never ends...
I was personally at the roller shutter manufacturer on Saturday and explained my problem once again, showing with photos that I have very strong light penetration in the bedroom starting from 5 a.m.
I also said that according to other roller shutter manufacturers, no compression tape was installed between the wall and the guide rail on mine! Besides that, the guide rail does not go almost to the windowsill, but stops about 2.5 cm before it! All this contributes to the fact that a lot of light (because it is the east side) comes into my room!
Answer from the roller shutter manufacturer (long-established local specialist company).
"Everything was installed according to the standard"
"There is no white compression tape. Only black. That doesn't look good"
"If compression tape is installed, the roller shutter curtain could possibly get pinched"
"Installing compression tape could push out the aluminum rail/dowels"
"The aluminum rails must be installed well above the aluminum windowsill"
"In the attic, masonry/plastering was done precisely. There is no gap between masonry and rails there. On the upper floor (where we are), it was not done precisely. That's why there are gaps"
Conclusion: The roller shutter manufacturer does not address the problem at all!
For 6 weeks now, I have been covering the window from the inside with cloths and sleeping with an eye mask.
I am gradually getting desperate.
PS: It only affects me in the apartment building because I am the only one who has my bedroom facing east.
In the photo, you can see the gaps between the wall and the guide rails.
The guide rails don’t go down to the windowsill as the photo suggests! Gap of about 2.5 cm!
