I mow myself every few days before a rain shower according to the weather forecast. The lawn is dark green and without weeds (was relatively a lot of work). Since the neighbor has a robotic mower, weeds are increasingly taking over his lawn. Probably also because he mows during midday heat and doesn’t water.
Since the neighbor got a robotic mower, weeds are increasingly taking over there. Probably also because it mows during midday heat and doesn't water anything.
Not to mention, people no longer look at the lawn up close that often – everything shimmers green, but you don't see that these are also the weeds, since they are only cut off at the top and not pulled out with roots, because without "manual mowing" you don’t see them ;)
Mind you, people don't look at the lawn up close that often anymore – everything shimmers green, but you don't see that it's also the WEeds, because they are only topped and not pulled out with roots, since you can't see them without "hand-mowing" ;)
I can already see his clover from afar. Even when the lawn is very short. For example, if you mow at 4cm, the clover often isn't topped.
Since I have a robotic lawn mower, weeds are basically no longer an issue. Because of the mulching, you have a lot of fertilizer in the lawn and it grows extremely dense. There is no room for weeds.
How often does one actually have to mow with such a reel mower? For mulching, you have to mow very regularly, right? How do you keep it sharp?
During the growth phase in spring, 2-3 times a week, less often when it’s hot. It’s important not to cut off too much. The devices are largely self-sharpening, as long as you don’t put them away wet to rust, you’ll only have to sharpen them every few years – but you shouldn’t mow when it’s wet anyway. Mowing itself naturally takes more time than with a robot mower. Overall, the reel mower is inexpensive and good. My parents started using the robot mower when their stamina and strength declined.
