In the corridor it gets tight, 3 cables have to go through, 1x boundary wire (distance to the wall at least 30cm), 1x boundary wire back (corridor width) 1x search/guide wire in between. The cables must never cross. So lay the boundary wire all around, starting and ending at the station, also over the terrace. And then the search/guide wire in between, through all 3 areas and at the end connect it to the boundary wire. Is there an edge at the pool? My Robi once turned out of the mowing area over the boundary wire (narrow spot), but immediately stopped. If the pool is there, only floaties help (for you or the Robi). We have the Gardena Smart Sileno live 750, because small housing over large mowing deck.

Why is a 30cm distance to the wall necessary? In general, I also have a question of understanding. Exactly how does the robot cross the boundary wire? Does it drive exactly in the middle over the wire (which would be great for the lawn edge) or does it drive along the edge? Or does it cross it by several centimeters?

Fortunately, the pool is only partially embedded in the ground :)

That is nonsense. My Worx has no boundary wire and also mows two areas. Firstly, it finds its way from area to area on its own, secondly, you can specify in the scheduling in which area it should start, and thirdly, it passes cleanly along the edge through the narrow passage.

This varies from mower to mower. A laterally offset cutting deck allows it to mow closer to the edge and requires less touch-up work. Mine has it right at the edge and a special edge mowing program. With that and a narrow mowing edge (concrete stone), the edges look wonderful.

With my 8 trees and 3 bushes in the middle of the lawn, there are no problems. And I’m glad I didn’t have to lay a boundary wire everywhere, but that the sensor does a good job. I find all that with Kress as well, even mowing capacity up to 4,400 m². I also have two zones connected by a narrow passage. And of course my Kress knows "zone mowing" and performs it carefully. And now let’s stop with "who has the better mower". I know mine runs in my garden ... ;)

Well, the cable is laid so that there are no collisions. If a wall is in the way, the cable is laid according to the manufacturer's specifications regarding the distance. And this always depends on the respective mower and its size. The goal is to avoid all obstacles without any contact. For lawn edges, the cable is laid closer to the edge so that the mowing robot crosses the edge and thus creates a clean edge cut.
