Yes, exactly.
You have enough lawn in the south and around it. No one takes anything away from you there, nor does it become less just because you plan your terrace a bit cozier than everyone who places it in the middle of the property.
In this respect, you even have more lawn more centered than otherwise.
Mud kitchen in the north, trampoline in the west... a wide view from the terrace towards the diagonal direction south.
Grill can be placed north in the AB carport, etc... great flow

Northwest in summer is ideal for evening barbecue enjoyment. And I rather see a two-story design with the elongated arrangement. This leaves the roof free for photovoltaics, etc.

We have a northwest terrace with a garden
Since the end of April more pleasant than the south
On the hot days recently, paddling pool, swing, and sandbox have disappeared under sun protection.

And even with 3 children, the question arises how long will they use the garden?

When do they meet with friends?
When do the swing and sandbox become boring?
Shortly after, the trampoline becomes uninteresting and the next outdoor pool more important

Great suggestion from and ! Suddenly the plot is no longer problematic, but perfectly buildable.

On the topic of garages: cars do just fine without a fixed roof. This applies less to bicycles, children’s vehicles, and garden tools. From my point of view, it is worth finding a place for the latter – it can also be a generous "wooden shed" with an adjacent carport.

For a company car, I would not build a garage, and our own cars cost at most 3 months’ salary so that a loss does not hurt. So they don’t get a garage either. Currently, we have a double garage and haven’t parked a car in it for years.

Thank you very much for your suggestions.
I have been thinking it over.
- Topic garage: I would like to have AT LEAST one enclosed garage, as I have a fondness for old cars and one of them also needs to be in a garage (classic car). You can argue about a second one - the everyday car definitely does not need to be in the garage.
- If I move the house forward (I have to maintain about 4-4.5 m distance to the street), I will lose the second parking space in front of the house unless I move the house further west. I'm still pondering this. Unfortunately, I cannot move further forward; the building envelope doesn’t allow more.
- A two-story house is definitely our preference - or because of the development plan, a 1 1/2-story house with a high knee wall. Full two stories are not possible because of the eave height.
- I still cannot assess the directions and how the sun will ultimately affect it. We currently have a south-facing terrace and are quite satisfied with it.

This is how it would look within the possible boundaries:

The other option - to position the house parallel to the street further back: What do you think about that?
Thank you very much
