Hello everyone,
I am new here and have been watching your Ikea forum for some time now with great interest, especially regarding Ikea dishwashers.
I have the following problem. I have a small and very tricky, awkwardly shaped kitchen. That’s why I ordered a kitchen from Ikea and also arranged for the kitchen measurements to be taken. So, this measuring person stood in the kitchen for a whole hour to measure everything precisely. Then the planning and ordering were completed on site at Ikea. According to the plan, the dishwasher was supposed to stand parallel to the other carcasses. In reality, when the carpenter (a friend) came to assemble the carcasses, it quickly became clear that this was not possible at all. Anyway, we still managed to fit the 45 cm dishwasher between the carcasses, but the carcasses now stand “U-shaped” next to each other. Sounds strange, but it looks good. In any case, after the kitchen was finally installed about six weeks later, it was only about the sliding hinge. It then became clear that it cannot be attached at all because the carcasses need to be parallel next to each other in order to attach the sliding hinge parts to the adjacent carcasses or boards. Due to lack of space, I can neither slide any boards in nor conjure anything up. The carpenter says I should not worry, that he will surely find another solution (he is thinking of something), but he did rather poorly during the assembly of my few kitchen parts, so I am quite worried whether there really are other (not Ikea-intended) possibilities to find a proper solution so that the dishwasher looks reasonably good. Sure, one could saw something, but I see no possibility (i.e., no drilling) to attach the front panel directly to the dishwasher, if you know what I mean. Ikea is not very accommodating (unfortunately, they did not agree to my suggestion to look at it on site). They say I can return the dishwasher. But I had the dishwasher delivered by them, and I find it unreasonable (it is very complicated as a female single to find someone to uninstall the dishwasher and drive it there). So far, I have found no one to do it for me. And honestly, I want to keep the dishwasher but under the condition that the front panel can really be attached without the sliding hinge.
I hope my text was somewhat understandable. And I look forward to your opinions.
